On Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Villa Fabbricotti (Via Vittorio Emanuele II, no. 64, Florence), on the occasion of the International Museum Day 2024 organised by ICOM - International Council of Museums, Fondazione Alinari invites you to take part in the CYANOTYPE WORKSHOP, in collaboration with Fotonomia association and thanks to the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze.
The workshop, dedicated to the cyanotype technique, focuses on an ancient photographic printing method characterised by the colour blue. After collecting wild herbs from the Villa's park, contact prints will be made. We will learn about this ancient technique and its history, and then proceed to the preparation of photographic papers. Following the stages of sensitisation, exposure to light, development, fixing and drying, the prints will be ready to be hand-sewn into a small herbarium.
The event is free of charge, subject to availability (max. 20 participants).
Recommended age: 3 years and over.
The meeting point will be at the loggia of the Villa.
Reservations are mandatory by sending an e-mail to the following address: faf.toscana@alinari.it
